Pastor Tim Johnson grew up on a small country farm near Hastings, Minnesota.  His parents, Bob and Shirley, joined the First Baptist Church of Rosemount where he sat under the preaching and teaching of Dr. Ed Johnson for the first nineteen years of his life.  He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of five in a Sunday School class after hearing a Bible lesson on Heaven and Hell.  He grew up in this growing church and Christian school and was actively involved in its ministries.  As a teenage boy, in the eighth grade, God called him to preach.  After graduating from the Christian school and working for a year, he moved to Great Falls, Montana to start preparing for the ministry at Mountain States Baptist College under the leadership of his uncle, Dr. Richard Dion.  It was there that he met his lovely wife Chassidy and after two years they were married. They then moved back to Minnesota and attended First Baptist Church of Rosemount once again while he worked various jobs.  The call of God on his life was still working hard on him, and after two years they were called by Pastor Gary Randall, Chassidy’s father, of Florence Baptist Church to help him in the rebuilding of the ministries of the church.

On March 21, 1991, Pastor and Mrs. Johnson came to Florence, Montana with their then one-year-old daughter, Lorissa.  He began to serve in the ministry as an assistant pastor.  It was here in an extension program of Mountain States Baptist College that he finished his Bible college education.  His main duty at Florence Baptist Church was to work with the young people and develop a thriving youth ministry.  Along with the youth work, he had many other responsibilities, which included but were not limited to children’s ministries, bus ministry, and building projects.  During his years as an assistant, not only did the ministries of Florence Baptist Church grow, but so did his family.  The family includes Pastor and Mrs. Johnson, along with their five precious children.  Lorissa is the oldest, followed by Justin, Jonathan, Charith, and Brandon.

On February 14, 1999, God brought a new phase of ministry to their lives.  Florence Baptist Church called Pastor Johnson into the senior pastorate.  After being at Florence for 20 years, Pastor Johnson has seen God bless the church in many ways.  This church has become a place where people can find friendship, love, and direction.  It is a place where lives are established upon the promises of God’s Word.  It has truly become a place where hearts and lives have been touched and changed.  The future is bright at Florence Baptist Church, where Pastor Johnson continues the push to reach just one more person for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Kevin Strong and his wife Merlene, along with their four children, are a great asset to the ministry at Florence Baptist Church.  Pastor Kevin has numerous responsibilities at Florence Baptist Church, which include but are not limited to: Family Bible Time Superintendent, Director of Children’s Ministries, and Music Director.  He and his wife run our Junior Church program each week and do a fabulous job with the kids.  Pastor Kevin also oversees our Annual Hallelujah Night Western Carnival on October 31.  Pastor Kevin and Merlene are both graduates of Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana.

Pastor Steve Giralt and his wife Kathy Giralt, along with their son, are also a great asset to the ministry of Florence Baptist Church. Pastor Steve and Kathy serve in the area of our Teen ministry, which includes  Family Bible Time Teen class, Wednesday Evening Teen Time and  Monthly scheduled Teen Activities. Pastor Steve also serves in the Bus Route and monitors our sound equipment. Kathy grew up at Florence Baptist Church and she now plays our piano for us. Both Pastor Steve and Kathy are graduates of West Coast Baptist Bible College in Lancaster, California
